Pinkalicious Fourth Birthday Party

We love the book, Pinkalicious, so we decided to have Nora's first birthday party -- in the same spot twice -- as a Pinkalicious extravaganza. If you recall, Nora's first birthday was in Alaska, her second in Arizona, and her third and now fourth here in Belgium. So, we sent out invitations for her five friends telling them to wear pink to Nora's party. When her guests arrived, they had to guess how many pieces of bubble gum were in the jar. Whoever guessed the closest received the jar of bubble gum. Malia's mom happy when her guess of 100 was the closest:)!

We then read the book, Pinkalicious and the girls were so excited to eat PINK food. I had pink ice cream, pink watermelon, pink grapes, bagels w/ pink cream cheese, pink cotton candy, pink candy (a ton of it), pink strawberries, pink lemon aide, and of course, PINK CUPCAKES. In the book, the main character eats too many pink cupcakes and turns the color pink, in order to turn back to her normal self, she must eat GREEN food. So, I played up the fact that in order to not turn pink, the girls must eat GREEN food. We played more games...guess the pink object in the bag, pop a balloon and find the pink object that was written on the slip of paper inside the balloon. We also painted on canvas and colored Pinkalicious coloring pages.

When the party was winding down, each girl received a pink bag full of Nora's favorite pink things and...a GREEN APPLE:)
