Fun Times of the Season

Christmas Season 2009 began with me taking every single light off of our pre-lit tree. We purchased the tree in Alaska, because live trees in Alaska were VERY expensive since they had to be imported from Washington. The extreme cold makes Alaskan pine trees not very good Christmas trees, the needles fall off as soon as you get the tree in the house. Anyhow, the second Christmas that we were in AK, we went to Home Depot and purchased a the fake pre-lit tree. Well, I guess that it is not a good thing to plug Christmas lights into a transformer, because every light burnt out. It took me FOUR hours to remove the lights, all 1,000 of them, because they were strung onto the tree by little zip ties. My hands were bruised and raw, but the tree looks fabulous. We have been busy with swimming lessons and gymnastics as well as a lot of holiday parties. It is good to be busy, since Chad is away and we miss him. We sent him a box of 12 presents for him to open from Dec. 25 - Jan. 6th. This deployment is so very different than the last, as we get to talk to him whenever we want and he has been sending letters and packages to the kids. Please continue to pray for our deployed soldiers and civilians.

Me, dressed for the adult Christmas party...I went alone and came home early. But, it was fun to dress up.
